Employment Opportunities

In order to be considered for employment with SUPERNet Virtual School, instructors must:

  • Be employed at a SUPERNet or SUPERNet II School District at the time of hiring:
    • SUPERNet Districts- Arp, Big Sandy, Carlisle, Chapel Hill, Hallsville, Hawkins, Henderson, Jacksonville, Lindale, New Summerfield, Tatum, Tyler, Union Grove, White Oak, Whitehouse, Winnsboro, Winona
    • SUPERNet II Districts- Beckville, Brownsboro, Hugh Springs, Martins Mill, Mineola, Quitman, Rusk, Troup, Waskom
  • Be fully certified in the subject to be taught- just as if the course were an in-classroom course
  • Have, or be willing to achieve within the first 6 months, certification through professional development clock hours, online instructor endorsement
  • Obtain approval in writing from the School District to have the payroll check pass through the District Employee’s Payroll check 3 times yearly (May, August, & December).
  • Must be willing to participate in all required training and continuing education in online learning.

SUPERNet Online Teachers are expected to:

  1. Conduct the online class/es in a predictable and professional manner, adapting as
    appropriate to specific student needs and considerations.
  2. Monitor and support learner performance in order to enable student success.
  3. Establish and communicate patterns of course activity, including frequency of instructor
    access.
  4. Communicate changes and/or adjustments to course activities and flow.
  5. Provide timely feedback to communications in order to maintain student progress.
  6. Provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback.
  7. Submit assignment and exam grades promptly.
  8. Post final student grades in compliance with administrators request.
  9. Use SUPERNet VHS supported communications systems for all course-related student
    interactions.
  10. Monitor and maintain course quality across the learning system, including content and
    editorial accuracy as well as elements related to the design and operation of the learning event.
  11. Identify and establish relationships with SUPERNet VHS support staff to ensure a quality
    online experience for both instructor and student.
  12. Maintain access to the online course via predictable and reliable technology. Technology
    is not issued by SUPERNet Virtual School to teachers.
  13. Participate in professional development.
